Community Consultation in Teknaf

A community level consultation meeting took place on 24 May 2007 at the Jadimura Private School campus in Teknaf.

Dhaka, Bangladesh, 29 May, 2007 (IUCN) – A community level consultation meeting took place on 24 May 2007 at the Jadimura Private School campus in Teknaf. IUCN Country Representative, Dr. Ainun Nishat was present at the consultation and facilitated the discussion. The purpose of the discussion was to communicate with the grassroots level people to generate mass awareness regarding the environmental issues as well as to identify the priority environmental issues embedded in the locality. Additionally, the discussion was also aimed at gathering indigenous knowledge used in coping with the adverse climatic and social conditions.
